Junior Charity Debate Open

Supporting the Singapore Cancer Society

Two hands exchanging a red heart, symbolizing giving or sharing love and care.

Debate for a Cause. Speak for Change.

What is JCDO?

The Junior Charity Debate Open (JCDO), presented by Open Floor Debate, is an international, student-led online debate tournament supporting the Singapore Cancer Society. Open to students in Grades 4–9, the tournament combines competitive World Schools debating with an opportunity to contribute to a cause that touches communities everywhere.

Four Preliminary Rounds. Two Divisions. One Shared Purpose.

Made for Young Debaters

The Junior Charity Debate Open is designed specifically for younger debaters, providing a competitive yet welcoming environment where students of all experience levels can thrive. With separate Elementary School (Grades 4–6) and Middle School (Grades 7–9) divisions, participants compete against peers of similar ages and skill levels. Dedicated Grade 4 and Grade 7 elimination breaks, alongside Novice speaker awards, ensure that younger and less experienced debaters have opportunities to be recognised for their achievements.

Our Cause

At the Junior Charity Debate Open 2027, we believe young voices can make a meaningful difference. Our tournament proudly supports the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). 100% of tournament net profits will be donated to SCS, turning every registration into an opportunity to give back. Every speech matters. Every debate makes a difference.
